If you haven't, yourself, struggled with addiction, you've probably loved somebody who has. A Trapdoor aims to start a conversation about the secrets, trauma, and shame we navigate through in our lifespan.

A Trapdoor is similar in tone to films such as: August: Osage County, Manchester by the Sea and Krisha.

Francis Downs has been in and out of rehab, burned every last bridge, and just can't seem to stay dry. But addiction isn't a stranger in the Down family. Her younger sister, Thora, a recovering addict, seems to have it all together, soon to be married, and finally able to have the "normal" life she's always dreamed of…

After Francis hits rock bottom, relapsing, and totaling her uncle’s truck, Thora is pressured by their mother into bringing Francis home. With all the family under the same roof, there will be no avoiding the past and the truth.

A Trapdoor is a brutal story about a family coming to terms with addiction, repressed memories, and loss.

Inside A Trapdoor

"There isn’t an inch of pavement there that doesn’t remind me of getting high."
